Beberusha are ultra-cool carriers loved by all new parents

You’ve welcomed your baby and now you’re ready for long spring and summer walks. The first thing you’ll look for are accessories that will make the journey easier. One of them comes from the workshop of Anja and Strahinja, whom we wrote about in our article Whatifness: check out the beautiful house nomads Anja and Strahinja built in just 40 days. Now they’ve "brought into the world" Beberusha, a hip seat carrier that parents across the region fell in love with at first sight. We caught up with them to learn more about this fantastic product.
- What is Beberusha?
Beberusha is a baby carrier that protects your back and frees up one hand, allowing you to get a ton of things done while carrying your baby—from rocking and soothing cries to preparing meals, washing pacifiers, going to the store, or grabbing a coffee. It’s perfect for Googling parenting mysteries, sending emails, checking Instagram, taking the 6,526th photo of your angel’s left eyelash, and everything else you need to do along the way.
- Who is it for?
It is intended for babies who can sit independently, roughly from 4 months of age, but it can be used even earlier while sitting as a support for breastfeeding. You can use it as long as it’s comfortable for you and your child wants it. Beberusha can even support the weight of an average three-year-old!
- Who is behind the project and how did the idea come about?
Beberusha was brought into the world by @Whatifness, Anja and Strahinja, when they had their twins and needed something to help them with the daily action of raising babies. They partnered with Anja’s best friend Iva, a designer, and that’s how their version of the hip seat carrier called Beberusha was born.
- What are the reactions?
Amazing! People write to us saying that Beberusha is so important to them that they match their outfits to it because they don’t leave the house without it. They say it’s a lifesaver for the back, that they can carry babies of various ages without any effort, and that they’d rather leave the house without shoes than without their Beberusha.
- Is the product sustainable or eco-friendly?
Beberusha is entirely made locally. From materials to the tailors who sew for us and the packaging – we source everything locally. We are happy that we don't pollute the environment by producing in a far-off country that requires air or ship transport. Our plan is to make Beberusha from entirely recycled materials as soon as we find the right fabric.
